Every day veterinarians are exposed to lots of licks, caring clients and  various degrees of suffering & distress.  I have always believed that we have an emotionally taxing job.

We are exposed to suffering from

  • pets
  • owners
  • people who love their pets so much but have financial constraints
  • colleagues
  • ourselves

Veterinary Practitioners are at great risk of compassion fatigue and burnout because we continually give, are very busy and deal with emotionally charged cases on a daily basis.
