Vets became vets because they are high achievers.

High achievers don’t fail or make mistakes.

That’s where the problem lies…..

The fear of failure or making a mistake will hold you back from success.

It held me back for a very long time and at times, this negative mindset still gets the better of me..

What do I do to change this?

My veterinary coach training taught me that there is no failure, only feedback.  Since then, I always look for the feedback and ask myself  how could I have done that differently?

I will make mistakes.  That is a guarantee!  Now I’m not afraid to make them.

Michael Staver presented a keynote at the 2012 WVC conference addressing stress in practice.
